LAKEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL: 6
Durand 71 - Lakeville 6 Durand won its first game of the season with a 71-6 drubbing of LakeVille. The Railroaders rushed as a team 45 times for 450 yards and 9 touchdowns. Gaven Brewer led the way with 115 yards on 10 carries and 3 touchdowns while Hayden Simmons ran for 3 touchdowns of his own on 10 carries for 100 yards. Carver Purdy chipped in 85 yards on 5 carries with 2 touchdowns. Caden Holbrook also scored twice for the Railroaders. Defensively the Railroaders forced 6 turnovers led by Cameron Bacchus with two interceptions. Brayden Kelley added an interception as well while Holbrook scored on a returned fumble. The 71 points scored is a school record for Durand breaking the previous record of 68 points scored against Birch Run in 1974. The Railroaders are now 1-3 on the season and return to action against Mt Morris next week.
